hoarding

People who hoard have a strong attachment to material things and to the collection of those things. If a person’s home is overcome, it can be overwhelming, and often dangerous to the person. If a person hoards, it may be a symptom of OCD or it could be its own syndrome. Hoarding has only recently been identified as a serious mental illness that can lead to illness and death. Treatment and support is available and a person that is hoarding can work towards a more enjoyable home and to living with less risk.
